Aim of the course

The objective of this course is to enable the students to approach the WWII in its complexity, 
gain awareness of how is WWII reflected and commemorated and to learn how to frame this knowledge theoretically. 

Moreover, participants will gain practical skills connected to organization of a public event, get a chance for direct exchange with TOP international scholars and training in public appearances.

Students will have an opportunity to actively participate in classes as well to develop their writing, analytical and presentation skills. For this reason the assessments have been set as following:

1) Conference presentation in class & presentation at the conference in Prague - 30%

2) Blog post - 25%

3) Reports on reading - 20%

4) Active participation & attendance - 25%


Minimum of 80% is need to pass (all of the above mentioned point have to be accomplished)
