The combined lecture and discussion course deals with the relations of Turks and Germans in many aspects: the historical development (for example World War I, the Genocide on Armenians) in the times of the Ottoman Empire and - after 1923 - the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish "Guestworkers" in Germany and the problems of their integration, at last the political, economic, and cultural relations between the FRG and Turkey nowadays.
