Annotation -
The course is aimed at students of MA programme of West European Studies. It introduces to the studies of immigration questions in France and to the colonial past of France. This subject will present two basic questions of French public sphere. The course will provide with a deeper view of immigration and colonial past in France and will show current opinions which connect these both questions. Within such approach there will be focused on the difference of empiric reality and its political and medial image.

Aim of subject

One of the main lecture tasks will bring information coming from the latest French publications which aren´t easily accessible in Czech milieu. The course will aim at the development of students abilities to analyze the imigration questions in France. In other words, one of the main aims is to show the difference between everyday live on suburb and political elite point of view.
