The aim of the course is to introduce the newest trends in the methodology of Jewish history with special focus on
European Jewish history in the 19th and 20th centuries. In most cases those are topics which go beyond the field
of Jewish history and are therefore applicable also on history of other groups of European inhabitants.

The course will be based on analysis of texts from the last years which fundamentally influenced the interpretation of different aspects of Jewish history. Once a month the students will take part at the seminar on modern Jewish history organized by Institute for Contemporary History, Jewish Museum in Prague and CEFRES with invited speakers. Interested students may continue with a course How Jewish is Jewish History in English language
