Update for the academic year 2025-26:

PLEASE NOTE: students are required to take an entrance test before enrolling on the English for Social Policy and English for Sociology courses.
WHEN: The test is scheduled for Monday, 22 September 2025; REGISTRATION via SIS (opens on 1 September at 10 a.m., closes on 21 September at 8 p.m.) for subject JLB099 (students can choose from 3 morning test dates - until capacity is reached/maximum 50 people per test date - 9:30 - 10:10 / 10:20 - 11:00 / 11:10 - 11:50)

The TEST RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED no later than September 24 at 20:00; the list of accepted students will be posted in the JLB099/Soubory (=Course Files).
ENROLMENT IN ENGLISH FOR SOCIOLOGY I opens on Thursday, 25 September, at 10:00 (only students who have passed the test and whose names appear on the list of accepted students may enrol).

WAIVER APPLICATIONS: Students who have an overall English language level of C1, as evidenced by a language certificate (or IELTS score of 7 or above), may apply for a waiver of the entrance test. A copy of the certificate must be emailed to <michaela.klirova@fsv.cuni.cz> no later than 15 September. Students who have passed the International Baccalaureate with good results and who send a copy of their official results to the above email address by the same date may also apply for a waiver.
