This course is a loose continuation of the JLB047. This course focuses on the deepening of language skills and on the vocabulary from the field of humanities. This course is designed for students of both a BA degree and a MA degree from any study field. A prerequisite for this course is intermediate level, i.e. roughly the first 14 lessons from the textbook "Ruština nejen pro samouky".

Teaching methods -
Lessons take a form of a seminar using a co-operative method - pairwork, groupwork, discussions, brainstorming.
There are situations and contexts within this course where you might be encouraged to use AI tools to explore how they can be used. This will only be done on a voluntary basis. Outside of those circumstances, you are asked not to use AI tools to generate content (text, video, audio, images) that will end up in any student work (assignments, activities, responses, etc) that is part of your evaluation in this course.
V kurzu se mohou vyskytnout situace, ve kterých budete vybízeni k používání nástrojů AI, abyste prozkoumali, jak je lze využít. To bude probíhat pouze na dobrovolné bázi. Mimo tyto specifické případy se nepředpokládá použití AI k vytváření obsahu, který bude součástí studentských prací.

Requirements to the exam -
Classified credit requirements:
written part:
1) Hand-written synopses of the texts read in the seminars (3 sentences and more) and the list of important expressions from them (5-20). Both are to be submitted prior to writing the test; I will gladly provide the authors with the corrections of their continuously submitted papers.
2) Test examines the ability to understand an unknown socioscientific text to give one's own opinion on a given topic, active knowledge of grammar and vocabulary studied during the course.

Your end-of-year score will be based on the marks received in the class, individual progress and achievements in the final test.
The assessment scale:
0-50 % = F 51-60 % = E 61-70 % = D 71-80 %=C 81-90 %=B 91% and more=A
A - outstanding performance with only minor errors, B - above the average standard but with some errors, C - generally sound work with a number of notable errors, D - fair but with significant shortcomings, E - performance meets the minimum criteria, F - fail – considerable further work is required

Podmínky k získání klasifikovaného zápočtu:
1) Před psaním testu je třeba odevzdat pracovní listy s ručně sepsanou stručnou reprodukcí obsahu textů přečtených v seminářích (3 a více vět) a soupis důležitých výrazů z textu podle vlastního výběru (5-20).
2) Písemný test Test ověřuje bezpečnou znalost probrané lexikální a mluvnické látky, částečnou orientaci v neznámém lehčím novinovém textu. Ukázku testu najdete v souborech na této stránce.
Klasifikuje se práce v hodině, individuální pokrok a úspěšnost v závěrečném testu.
Klasifikační stupnice:
A (výtečně) = 91 % a více (vynikající výkon pouze s drobnými chybami) B (velmi dobře) = 81-90 % (nadprůměrný výkon avšak s určitými chybami) C (dobře) = 71-80 % (celkově dobrý výkon s řadou výrazných chyb) D (uspokojivě) = 61-70 % (přijatelný výkon, ale se značnými nedostatky) E (dostatečně) = 51-60 % (výkon splňuje minimální požadavky) F (nedostatečně) = 0-50 % (je zapotřebí značné množství další práce)

Syllabus -
The first 40 minutes are going to involve work with the textbook (usually lessons 15-16); the other half is going to cover readings of the texts from the field of humanities.

V první části vyučovacího bloku se pracuje s učebnicí (lekce 15.-16.), ve druhé pak s lehkými aktuálními texty na společenskovědní témata a doplňkovými materiály. V akademickém roce 2023/2024 to byli
Reportéři bez hranic, Judin o Navalném, prezidentské volby v Rusku, žebříček šťastných zemí, Zelenský 24. 2. 2024, povodně v Rusku, seriál Pevčichové Zrádci aj.
Materiály poskytnuté studentům a používané při výuce slouží výhradně ke studijním účelům pro zapsané posluchače kurzu a nejsou určeny k dalšímu šíření.
