The Language Dept. offers two types of courses - Mgr Gloverova's seminars will cover Moduls 1 and 2 from The New English File Upper-intermediate coursebook (grammar and vocabulary will be thoroughly explained and practised, suitable for students who need to solidify their language skills, to be able to develop them further) - Mgr Proskova's seminars will cover Moduls 1 to 4 from The New English File Upper-intermediate coursebook (at a faster pace, suitable for students who have had greater experience and confidence using English) and will emphasize building relevant advanced vocabulary around the topics of politics, society, economy... Attendance is not mandatory but participation is strongly recommended!!! The study materials used in the classes are solely for the use of the students of the English I. course. Students will improve their speaking, writing, listening and reading skills as well as grammar and vocabulary at an upper intermediate level (B2), so that they are able to communicate in everyday situations. During the seminars not only a classical teacher-centred approach is used but also a discovery technique when students themselves find out the grammar rules or try to form new words from the root ones. Also, the multiple intelligence theory is used which can cater for the needs of all types of learners (audiovisual, kinesthetic, spatial intelligence etc.). |
