This course is a continuation of the course JLB029 and is designed for students of all the study disciplines offered at the FSV UK. The course aims to enlarge the vocabulary of general as well as specialized nature, solidify grammar structures and improve communication skills (lessons 6-12 from the textbook "Učebnice současné španělštiny" - 2nd part). Upon completion of the course the students are expected to be on the B2+/C1 level (https://fsv.cuni.cz/studium/vyuka-jazyku/hodnoceni-jazykove-dovednosti).

The course aims to solidify language skills of the students. Students are going to read long texts in Spanish of general as well as specialized nature. Upon completion of the course students should be able to discuss academic texts and summarize them in verbal as well as written form.

Teaching methods -

Teaching is based on working with text and authentic recordings, which serve as a basis for practice of understanding and development of speaking skills. The selection of texts is given by the theme and is related to the grammatical subject. Students work in pairs or small groups.

PREREQUISITES TO OBTAIN THE EXAM CREDIT FOR THE CLASS: 
- 2x written tests (2x30 points)

- essay or presentation (10points)

- 2x assignments or short tests (2x5points)

- oral exam (20points)

Oral exam:
- understanding of an academic text
- extensive vocabulary
- ability to lead dialogues on a given topic

Evaluation:

0-50 % = F

51-60 % = E

61-70 % = D

71-80 % = C

81-90 % = B

91 % and more = A

A - outstanding performance with only minor errors, B - above the average standard but with some errors, C - generally sound work with a number of notable errors, D - fair but with significant shortcomings, E - performance meets the minimum criteria, F - fail – considerable further work is required
