Annotation -
This course focuses on interpretation and critical reading of selected texts which deal with research of effects of media contents on the individual and society. The aim of the course can be divided into three areas: a) acquainting with the development of research and theory of media effects; synchronic and diachronic classification; models; b) work with literature; continuous preparation for the seminar (reading of selected works); c) this will be followed up by analysing the texts in the seminar; focus on theoretical basis and context, methods and conclusion. The course is based on active participation of students, above all on reading prescribed materials and discussing in the seminars.

Absolvent/ka by měl/a  získat povědomí 1. o historii a současností zkoumání vlivu médií na jedince a společnost, 2. o základních přístupech a výzkumných metodách, prostřednictvím 3. rozborů klíčových výzkumů a jejich závěrů.
