Annotation

The primary aim of the seminar is to provide valuable feedback to dissertation research of the participants. Topics with explicit policy consequences are preferred, but any paper in economics qualifies for the presentation. Both theory and empirics is welcome.

The secondary aim is to enrich and broaden your research by sharing novel results and methods. You may expect constructive, productive and relevant feedback to your work.

Requirements to the exam

• Only work in progress is eligible for presentation. If you have presented the paper at another seminar, indicate it before your slot is allocated and define value added compared to the previous presentation (i.e., send a previous and new version of the paper and point to key differences). In such cases, the course organizers reserve the right to refuse your presentation if the value added is not significantly large.
• Paper is delivered at latest a week prior presentation. Presentation should last no more than 30 minutes. At least one discussant per presentation is allocated, and each discussant prepares a short presentation on the paper.
• The paper can be short, and in a very rough form. What is important is that the paper is edited such that the reader can identify and discuss the value added, and that the results are verifiable.
