Requirements to the exam

Students are required to

• Take part in all seminars. 

• Present their research once per two semesters. 

• Serve as a discussant of another student's research in the semester when they are not presenting their own work.

• Actively engage in the discussion of other students' presentations.

Filling the sheet

1) Note your name, email and the term when you will present your own research in the top left section of the sheet. In the other term, you will serve as a discussant to someone else's work.
2) If you are presenting in the winter semester, put your name and preliminary paper title next to a time slot of your choice in the top right section of the sheet.
3) If you are presenting in the summer semester, put your name as a discussant next to a paper of your choice in the top right section of the sheet.

Sharing your paper prior to presentation
Even a very rough work in progress is acceptable (that is where feedback can be particularly valuable).
Each draft of the paper will be sent by email to all seminar participants on Monday 9AM in the seminar week at the latest. Use all emails above.

Timing
1) Presentation (30 minutes)
2) Discussant's presentation (10 minutes)
3) General discussion (20 minutes)
Clarifying questions are strongly encouraged during the talk.
Fundamental, methodology and literature questions and comments to be given during the general discussion.

Attendance
The seminars are held in person.
Attendance at all seminars is required. In exceptional circumstances, if you cannot attend for valid reasons, please contact course instructors in advance of the seminar.
We expect you to actively participate in the seminars (even if you are not presenting nor serving as a discussant).
