Course completion requirements

SIS

It is important to register for the course in SIS where you can download the slides from the seminars, upload the draft of your thesis and receive feedback on it.

Requirements (each of the points below has to be fulfilled in order to get a pass from the course)

·       January 31: progress report, 5 pages of text, reference list and (if working on an empirical thesis) summary statistics. Upload the text on the course website in SIS – under the tab “Study group roaster / Studijni mezivysledky”, an icon with four blue figures. The document needs to include:

o   A short progress report. Explain what you managed to do, whether you have obtained all the data needed for the analysis and whether there are any problems. The progress report should be approximately half page long.

o   At least 5 pages of the text (excluding any figures, tables or empty pages) which is very close to the final version. Include only the parts with the text you wrote, exclude empty pages from the template for the thesis. Typically, this will be the literature review, but any other part of the thesis can be submitted.

o   The list of references.

o   If you work on an empirical thesis, at least one page with the description of the dataset and summary statistics (the means and standard errors of all variables) to show that you have obtained access to the relevant data sources.

You will receive either OK from the course supervisors, or more detailed comments in case there are some issues.
