Annotation -
The fundamental idea of the subject is to acquire knowledge and skills which stimulate the promotion of the effective, safe, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy. The aim is to learn how to apply principles and use the tools of pharmaceutical care in specific nosology units, symptoms, and various groups of patients and thus contribute to the individualization of the therapy in order to optimize health outcomes related to pharmacotherapy. Using case reports, students are learned how to coordinate patient´s self-medication and its risks arising from, how to maximize the effect of the therapy and minimize its risks and search for the possibilities of rational management of medication non-adherence and other drug-related problems. Additionally, the course is focused on correct use of specific drug forms, and strategies of diet and regimen habits.

Requirements to the exam -

 

Before the exam, student will present an analysis of three to five of own case reports. The exam consists of a discussion of the given topics and an analysis of the presented case reports.
