Annotation -
This subject of education is focused on the analytical toxicology explained in wider circumstances. Common knowledge about various poisons, manifestations of poisonings, diagnostic based on visual evaluation and instrumental methods suitable for the both diagnosis of poisonings and the determination of poisons presence will be explained in this subject. The scope also includes military toxicology, toxicology for pharmacists and toxicology of natural substances.

Requirements to the exam -
  • To explain the basic problematics of toxicology analyses with a minimal intervention of the teacher. 

  • The student should be able to interpret the acquired knowledge in the field of poison description, expression of the poisons impact on organism (e.g. threshold limits, median lethal dose) and manifestation of the impact, and description of instrumental methods common in the analytical toxicology.

  • Knowledge of clinical biochemistry and pharmaceutical toxicology.

  • Basic orientation in toxicology of natural substances.
