The 6th year is focused on clinical, in-patient and outpatient practice, organized into continuous training blocks, and ends with the final state examination. Students are divided into two groups, which rotate throughout the academic year.

Course assessment methods and requirements for successful completion, grading scheme
Attendance in clinical training is mandatory (100%). Students must provide confirmation from the relevant healthcare facility, which is recorded in the special logbook for pre-state examination practice. Based on this confirmation, the credit is granted.

Syllabus
Before the final examination, students complete a 3-week placement at selected pediatric hospital departments. Part of the placement, up to 1 week, may take place in the office of a general practitioner for children and adolescents. Supervisors are department heads, chief physicians, or teaching assistants. During the placement, students actively participate in examinations and procedures specified in the special logbook for pre-state practice. Students print out the logbook twice and have it confirmed at the hospital and PLDD where they are doing their internship.
