Transfusion medicine lessons provide comprehensive and practical account of modern blood transfusion practice. The main topics are: a) practice in transfusion departments (blood donation and blood processing; production, testing, storage and quality control of blood components); b) laboratory testing (red cell, white cell and platelet antigens and antibodies, compatibility testing; c) clinical transfusion practice (principles of rational haemotherapy, indications of blood transfusion; d) adverse posttransfusion reactions and complications; e) plasma derivates.

Výuka předmětu transfuzní lékařství seznamuje s praktickými a moderními postupy v transfuzní praxi. Hlavními tématy jsou: a) výroba na transfuzním oddělení (odběr a zpracování krve; výroba, testování, skladování a kontrola kvality transfuzních přípravků); b) laboratorní vyšetření (testování antigenů a protilátek erytrocytů, leukocytů a trombocytů, testy kompatibility); c) klinická transfuziologie (zásady účelné hemoterapie, indikace podání jednotlivých transfuzních přípravků); d) komplikace transfuze; e) krevní deriváty.
