Aim of the course

After finishing of this subjects, the students are able to:

1. Carry out a preventive check up of the teeth and oral cavity
2. Examine the patient with an acute condition and make a diagnosis.
3. Perform and analyze X-ray images.
4. Perform simple dental procedures (removal of supragingival dental calculus, oral hygiene instruction).
5. Perform basic dental treatment (treatment of dental caries of a small scale, simple tooth extractions, periodontal treatment, basic prosthetic procedures).

Credit

Credit will be given to the students who

1. take part on all of the practical classes, the seminars and the lectures,
2. get at least 80 points from practical classes at the department of restorative dentistry,
3. will do requested preparation on Frasaco tooth - 34/24M, 36/26MOD,
4. performs root canal treatment of at least 5 root canals of extracted or 3D printed teeth, one of the teeth being a molar; performs root canal treatment of 3D printed KaVo replicas of teeth 11 and 24 in the KaVo simulator, including taking an apical X-ray image in the simulator,
5. extract at least 3 permanent teeth.
