Bacteriology: Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria ? their structure, pathogenity, treatment and prevention of bacterial diseases. Antibiotics ? mechanism of action, rezistance, rules of use. Virology: RNA and DNA viruses ? their structure, replication, pathogenity. Diseases caused by prions. Antiviral drugs. Prevention of viral diseases. Mycology: surface and systemic fungal infections, oppostunistic mycoses, antifungal drugs. Parasitology: protozoa, helminths ? their structure, live cycles, pathogenity. The arthropods ? pathogens and vectors. Antiparasitic drugs. Basics of clinical microbiology. Hospital infections. Vaccination. Practical training in laboratory methods used in diagnosis of the most important human infections.
