Students are introduced into problems dealing with environmental pollution. The discussion is focused on military nerve gases, contamination of food, toxic effects of drugs, addiction and poisons in plant and animal kingdoms. Case reports: Acute intoxications and their treatment (alcohols, fungi).

Předmět uvádí studenty do problematiky toxických látek v pracovním i životním prostředím. Dále se zabývá vybranými otravnými látkami, toxickými látkami v potravinách, toxickými účinky léků a návykových látek., rostlin, hub a živočichů (členovci, ryby, hadi). Ve spolupráci s internisty jsou diskutovány akutní intoxikace a jejich léčba.
