Předmět hlouběji seznamuje studenty se sociálními aspekty zdravotní péče o vybrané skupiny populace. Problematika se týká seniorů, dětí ohrožených prostředím, osob s chronickým onemocněním, pacientů s infaustní prognozou, osob se závislostí na návykových látkách, dětí a adolescentů s poruchami chování a osob s handicapem. Předmět probíhá formou stáží v zařízeních, která se péči o tyto osoby věnují.

• People with physical and mental disabilities

• Erderly

• Socially disadvantaged children

Child abuse and neglect

Substitute family care (adoption, foster care)

• Social services provided by public, private, voluntary and community sectors

• Schools and educational facilities for children with special needs

• Occupational and leisure opportunities

The course will develope an intagrated view of the ways in which social factors can influence health.

Each course participant will choose one topic and produce a short essay (3–5 pages).
