Course assessment methods and requirements for successful completion, grading scheme

=== Course Completion ===

To get credit for the course students must attend at least 3 out of 5 practical sessions and pass the final written exam with at least 60% of the maximum possible points.

The threshold for passing the final exam may be lowered by completing a project and/or by exceeding the minimum attendance requirement for practical sessions.

The final exam will consist of multiple-choice questions where anywhere from zero to all of the provided answers may be correct.

We believe it is important to be aware of what you do not know. Therefore, for each question, you also indicate whether you are certain of your answer. If you are certain, a correct answer earns +1 point, while an incorrect answer results in -0.5 points. If you are not certain, a correct answer earns +0.5 points, and an incorrect answer results in 0 points.

Exam dates will be announced in SIS, and students must register for them. While there is no strict limit on the number of attempts allowed for the final exam, the number of scheduled exam dates is limited.

Late arrivals or early departures from practical sessions must be discussed with the instructor in advance.

Arriving late or leaving early by more than 20 minutes counts as half-attendance.

Arriving late or leaving early by more than 45 minutes counts as an absence.
