Medical Psychology is a discipline that mediates basic theroretical and practical aspects of psychological, behavioural and social aspects of health and illness. To practice effective evidence-based medicine, doctors must knot how psychological and behavioural factors influence health and illness. Medical students are taught to implement a biopsychosocial perspective and to use psychological approaches in diagnostics and treatment. After the course medical students understand that in order to achieve best possible treatment results, working and trustfull doctor-patient relationship must be established and maintained. Also, medical students aquire basic knowledge and skills how to survive in good health extremely demanding medical profession. Lectures, seminars, practical trainings are interactive, study materials (presentations, articles and links) are available in curricular database Vyuka, http://vyuka.lf3.cuni.cz/. During theoretical topics results of scientific studies and case-reports will be presented. During practical training videomaterials will be presented and role-playing will be encouraged. Contents - Structure: Structure 4th year Medical Psychology is organized in two separate formats and it´s goal is to mediate theoretical knowledge. First, neurobiology of basic psychological mechanisms (memory, emotions and stress; 3 seminars) are part of Neurobehavioural Sciences I module (for details go to Vyuka, Neurobehavioural Sciences I). Second format covers psychological, behavioural and social aspects of health and illness. There are 7 lectures in summer semester for all students. Students are expected to participate in lectures. In order to obtain credit, students present themselves with written synopsis (short summary) of scientific or popular scientific text or book on neuroscience or psychology topics no longer than 300 words. 5th year Medical Psychology
Students are expected to participate in at least 80% of practical training. For otaining the credit they will present themselves with the Student´s Record, see attachement with signatures from teachers. Exam

In order to participate in the Exam from Medical Psychology, students must have credit  from Medical Psychology, 4th year, since 2015/2016. It is possible to participate in both study programmes concurrently, but participation in the exam is possible only after obtaining credit from the 4th year. Succesfull passing of the 5th year oral Medical Psychology Exam is a prerequisite for participation in the State Exam from Neurobehavioural Sciences, that has two parts: 1. Oral Medical Psychology exam and Oral commissional exam from psychiatry and neurology. The Medical Psychology Exam Questions and the Terms for Medical Psychology Exam, winter semester 14/15 are attached below. The whole text about the State Exam Neurobehavioural Sciences is attached in Vyuka, http://vyuka.lf3.cuni.cz/. The rules for Medical Psychology Exam are as follows.
• For oral exam from psychology and oral commissional exam from psychiatry and neurology student apply through the Student Information System (SIS).
• Oral exam from psychology takes place in the Department of psychology of 3rd Medical Faculty, Ruská 87, building 19. The terms are published in Study Information System (SIS) and in web module Vyuka, Medical psychology, Informace o predmetu unit.
• At the examination, student will be allotted one question. List of questions is available in web module Vyuka, Medical psychology, Informace o predmetu unit.
• Successful passing of the oral exam from psychology is prerequisite for participation at the oral commisional exam from psychiatry and neurology. Successful passing is defined as the grade "excellent", "very good" or "good". This result is part of the overall result of SFE.
• If the student subsequently does not pass oral commissional exam from psychiatry and neurology the result from oral exam from psychology remains valid and the exam does not have to be repeated.
