The course Orthopaedics as a component of the instructional module of surgical disciplines is focused on presentation of options of the non-operative and operative treatment of orthopaedic diseases and affections after severe injuries to the musculoskeletal apparatus. It provides an overview of typical clinical complaints, the basic diagnostics based on physical examination and imaging methods, the method of planning of the non-operative and operative treatment and of individual surgical procedures.

Kurz Ortopedie jako součást výuky Modulu chirurgických oborů je zaměřen na prezentaci možností konzervativní a operační léčby ortopedických onemocnění a stavů po závažných poraněních pohybového aparátu. Uvádí přehled typických klinických obtíží, základní diagnostiku fyzikálním vyšetřením a zobrazovacími metodami, způsob plánování konzervativní a operační léčby a provedení jednotlivých operačních výkonů.

The primary objective of the subject is to provide a comprehensive overview of individual orthopaedic diseases and post-traumatic affections requiring surgical treatment. The secondary objective is to present typical clinical syndromes, physical examination and diagnostics using imaging methods. The third objective is to explain indication of non-operative and operative treatment and the method of planning of individual surgical procedures. The fourth objective is to acquaint students with the performance of individual surgical procedures.

Primárním cílem předmětu je podání komplexního přehledu ortopedických onemocnění a posttraumatických stavů pohybového aparátu vyžadujících léčbu. Sekundárním cílem je prezentovat typickou klinickou syndromologii, fyzikální vyšetření a diagnostiku těchto stavů zobrazovacími metodami. Terciálním cílem je vysvětlit indikace konzervativní a operační léčby a způsob plánování jednotlivých operačních výkonů. Kvartérním cílem je seznámit studenty s provedením jednotlivých léčebných výkonů.

Teaching methods -

The course consists of seminars, practical training in the outpatient department and in the operating theatre. In the first year of the study, the seminars are organised in the form of interactive instruction. In the second year they are focused on revision of the information acquired in the first year. The practical training in the outpatient department and in individual wards is carried out on an individualised one teacher-one student basis with a focus on the basic practical skills. The training in the operating theatre is carried out in the form of assisting during surgery.

Jedná se o kurz založený na seminářích, práci na ambulanci, práci na oddělení a asistencích při operačních výkonech. Semináře v prvním roce studia mají interaktivní charakter. Semináře ve druhém roce studia mají charakter opakování informací získaných předchozím studiem. Práce na ambulanci a oddělení je individualizovaná do podoby jeden učitel ? jeden student, proto má charakter tréninku základních úkonů ošetřujícího lékaře. Práce na operačním sále má podobu asistence při jednotlivých operačních výkonech.

Conditions for acquisition of credit in the course of orthopaedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal apparatus
5th year
Credit will be awarded:
1. upon completion of four internships, one internship in the sonographic outpatients department and a night duty,
2. participation in 4 seminars with case reports offered is recommended in the course of the whole academic year,
3. in case of failure to comply with this condition, upon completion of a substitute individual clinical internship agreed in advance with the head of the course.
6th year
Colloquy (the so called sub-credit) will be awarded:
1. upon completion of 80% of the prescribed course attendance, seminars are optional,
2. in case of failure to comply with this condition, upon completion of a substitute individual clinical internship agreed in advance with the head of the course.

Podmínky udělení zápočtů za výuku ortopedie a traumatologie pohybového aparátu:
5. ročník
Podmínky zápočtu:
1. absolvování sonografické ambulance a noční služby,
2. absolvování čtyř seminářů s prezentací konkrétních pacientů s onemocněním týkajícím se tématu semináře,
3. v případě nesplnění podmínek po absolvování náhradní individuální klinické stáže po předchozí domluvě s vedoucím učitelem kurzu.
6. ročník
Podmínky kolokvia (podzápočtu):
1. absolvování 80 % v rozvrhu předepsaných stáží, semináře jsou nepovinné,
2. v případě nesplnění této podmínky po absolvování náhradní individuální klinické stáže po předchozí domluvě s vedoucím učitelem kurzu.
