Acquainting students with the process of waste disposal in healthcare facilities, from the creation of waste to the final securing of its removal, including principles of eliminating risks during its disposal.

Syllabus -
  • Staff at healthcare facilities, be they hospitals or out-patient facilities, come into contact with waste daily, during all manner of activities. Completing the course should help find an answer to the question, ?What shall we do with it?? and bring nearer the obligations and responsibilities of waste disposal up to its removal or handing over to the relevant party. Waste disposal is also a subject of intense interest from the side of regulatory authorities.
  • Another topic concerns problems surrounding the presence of Legionella in water in healthcare facilities and acquaintance with possible procedures against its appearance.
  • A brief acquaintance with the methodology of evaluating health risks from water.
