The primary aim of the course is to introduce students to the rules of history taking in English-speaking patients and to broaden their knowledge of professional and lay medical terminology. On the basis of specialized medical histories (relevant to the field of physical therapy), the course will also contribute to the improvement of students' general linguistic competence, especially in the area of grammar and syntax. Assessment: C (credit/zápočet) Students will receive their credit if they meet the following conditions: 1) attendance (at least 70%), 2) class work including home preparation (i.e. completition of all e-learning assignments); 3) successful completion of the credit test (pass mark 70%). The credit test includes reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and other material covered in the seminars or in the e-learning assignments (cf. EL I-III). The test can be retaken three times. |
