Annotation
The main objective of the elective is to obtain basic practical skills in cardiovascular surgical, get better understanding of therapeutical algorithms in patient care such as: ABI index, basic surgical sutures, patients medical history and patients physical examination including patients ward care, assisting during surgical procedures including patients pre-op. First class will be Thursday at 2pm, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, 4th Floor- Lecture hall. Each student will be assigned to a doctor, under which supervision he will perform given tasks. It is possible to attend department at any days after consultation with the head of the elective subject. Every student will obtain a logbook of practical skills.

Course completion requirements

As per organisation; students will recieve an email adress for their tutor and they will contact their respective tutors via email and sessions will be planned based on time-schedule of student and tutor.

Each student will be assigned to a surgeon, who will tutor the student. Three or more visits to our clinic are expected. This subject is best undertaken by students who are interested in long-term shadowing and acquisition of surgical skills. Students are also expected to practice surgical skills at home. Credit is given based upon the tutors evaluation.
