Annotation
This is an intensive three-day practical course focused on fundamental proteomic and biochemical techniques for recombinant protein preparation and analysis. The course is for highly motivated students of 3. to 6. year of general medicine studies, as well as PhD students. The course is conducted in Czech or English (or a combination of both), depending on the participants. Students will gain hands-on experience with recombinant protein expression in bacterial systems (E. coli), cell lysis and protein extraction, purification using affinity chromatography (IMAC), determination of protein concentration (Nanodrop, Bradford assay), and analysis of protein purity using SDS-PAGE. The course takes place at BIOCEV (Vestec) and is organized in small groups to ensure an individual approach. Minimum number of students: 3 Maximum number of students: 6
