Annotation

The course will consist of two parts:

a) lecture, indroducing the fundamental concepts of this most influencial school of Buddhist philosphy, as well as to
the life and work of the Tibetan scholar Tsong kha pa (1357-1419)

b) selected reading from the the Tibetan text of the „rTsa she tik chen“, Tsong kha pa’s commentary on the the
main work of the school, the „Mulamadhyamakakarika“ by Nagarjuna.

Course will be held by prof. Helmut Tauscher (Universität Wien).
