Annotation -
The exam tests the receptive skill of reading a professional text with comprehension. It focuses on the ability to comprehend a longer professional text (understanding the basic meaning of the text as well as capturing detailed information) and to place it in the context of the field of study.
The examination consists of a written paper based on home reading of a foreign language professional text and an oral part (analysis of both unfamiliar and familiar text).
There will be 1 explanatory and 1 translation dictionary available for the exam. Online dictionaries are now also allowed. The teacher will assign an unknown text of 1-1.5 pages (may or may not contain questions). After a preparation time (15-20 minutes), the student demonstrates how well he/she has understood the content of the text. This is followed by an interview on the student's own chosen text + analysis (translation) of the chosen passage.

The exam is intended only for students of the FA's field study programmes conducted in English who have it prescribed in their study plan. Please contact the examiner, regarding how to take the exam.
This course is NOT intended for incoming foreign students (in the Erasmus programme, etc.).
