The B1 examination tests active language competence at the B1 level of the CEFR, focusing on reception, production, interaction, and mediation.
Students demonstrate the ability to communicate independently in everyday situations, express opinions, understand main ideas, and mediate basic information between people and cultures.
The exam is intended for Faculty of Arts students.

Zkouška je určena pouze pro studenty FF.
Zkouška B1 ověřuje aktivní znalost jazyka, konkrétně komunikační dovednosti v oblasti recepce, produkce, interakce a mediace na úrovni B1 podle Společného evropského referenčního rámce (CEFR).
Student prokazuje schopnost samostatně komunikovat v běžných situacích, vyjadřovat své názory, porozumět hlavním myšlenkám. Dokáže zprostředkovat základní informace či podporovat dialog a být prostředníkem v komunikaci mezi různými lidmi a kulturami.

Assessment: The written section is worth a total of 35 points. To pass, students must achieve at least 60% (i.e., 21 points) overall, with a minimum of 50% in each component. Upon fulfilling these minimum criteria, the student proceeds to the oral part of the exam.
Oral Section(approx. 15 minutes)
The oral examination consists of the following tasks:
The student briefly talks about themselves, their studies, and their interests.
The student responds to a given situation.
In both parts, the student answers the examiner’s questions.
Form: monologue and dialogue/interaction
During the oral exam, the student is expected to:
provide a simple description (e.g., of a person, place, or experience);
express and briefly justify an opinion;
compare two things or situations;
engage in routine conversation (e.g., shopping, ordering, making plans, or inviting someone).
Students are given time to prepare before the exam.
Assessment: The oral section is worth a total of 15 points. The minimum passing score is 8 points.
Overall Assessment
The total number of points for the entire examination is 50. To pass, students must achieve a minimum of 60%, i.e., 30 points in total.

Hodnocení písemné části: Celkem 35b., pro splnění je třeba získat min. 60%, tedy 21 b., z každé části minimálně 50%. Při splnění těchto minimálních kritérií student postupuje k ústní části zkoušky.
Ústní část (cca 15 minut)
Student krátce pohovoří o sobě, svém studiu a svých zájmech.
Student reaguje na situaci dle zadání.
U obou částí student reaguje na dotazy zkoušejícího.
Forma: monolog, dialog / interakce.
Student prokazuje následující dovednosti:
zvládne jednoduchý popis (osoby, místa, zážitku),
dokáže vyjádřit názor a krátce ho odůvodnit,
porovná dvě věci nebo situace,
umí vést běžný rozhovor (např. při nákupu, objednávce, domlouvání plánu, pozvání).
Před zkouškou má student čas na přípravu.
Hodnocení ústní části: Celkem 15 b.,minimum 8 b.
Celkové hodnocení
Celkový počet bodů za všechny části zkoušky je 50 b. Pro splnění celé zkoušky je nutné získat min. 60%, tedy 30 b.
