The course introduces the fundamental concepts of psychophonetics and the current state of the art in the field. Cognitive aspect of the speech communication processes is emphasized, i.e., the problem of mental representations of phonetic units in the minds of language users and their potential roles in speech production and perception, also in connection with speech impairments and speech errors. Affective cues in speech are also studied.<br>
