The aim of the course is to deepen insight into the structure and dynamics of the pedagogical debate of the late 18th and 19th centuries - into the relationship between the Enlightenment and education, and the development of science in the period of positivism.
Elementary education, practical instruction; piety and morality as the goals of popular education: the development of “popular” education in the first half of the 19th century in the Czech lands of the monarchy. 2. The teacher and his “enlightenment-national task” the beginnings of systematic education of teachers of folk education at the end of the 18th century and its development in the 19th century. 3. Pedagogy at the University of Prague until 1882 the development of pedagogy as a science until 1882: compulsory reading (V.E.Milde) and the “free” development of the science, herbartism in the Czech lands. 4. “Folk and higher”: the question of education in the 19th century, Exner-Bonitz's reform of secondary education.
