Course Objectives:
The semester-long course "Prompt Engineering" at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, is designed to develop skills
for effective communication with generative artificial intelligence models. The course provides participants with
theoretical foundations and practical experience in creating well-thought-out and targeted prompts that enable optimal
results when working with AI-based tools such as ChatGPT and similar systems.

Course Description:
Throughout the course, students will familiarize themselves with key principles and approaches to prompt engineering,
including the analysis of various types of prompts, their structure, and methods of optimization. They will learn how to
tailor prompts to different tasks, ranging from text processing and research to analysis and creative writing. The course
also includes discussions on ethical issues and the limitations of generative AI, focusing on how to use AI tools
responsibly and with an emphasis on critical thinking.

Cíle kurzu:
Semestrální kurz "Prompt Engineering" na Filozofické fakultě Univerzity Karlovy je zaměřen na rozvoj dovedností
efektivní komunikace s generativními modely umělé inteligence. Kurz účastníkům poskytne teoretické základy a
praktické zkušenosti s tvorbou promyšlených a cílených pokynů (promptů), které umožňují dosáhnout optimálních
výsledků při práci s nástroji na bázi AI, jako je ChatGPT a další podobné systémy.

Anotace:
V průběhu kurzu se studenti seznámí s klíčovými principy a přístupy k prompt engineeringu, včetně analýzy různých
typů promptů, jejich struktury a způsobů optimalizace. Naučí se, jak přizpůsobit prompty různým úkolům, od zpracování
textu přes rešerše a analýzy až po kreativní psaní. Kurz zahrnuje také diskuzi o etických otázkách a limitech
generativní AI, přičemž se zaměří na to, jak využívat AI nástroje odpovědně a s důrazem na kritické myšlení.
