Course Objectives:
The semester-long course "Prompt Engineering" at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, is designed to develop skills for effective communication with generative artificial intelligence models. The course provides participants with theoretical foundations and practical experience in creating well-thought-out and targeted prompts that enable optimal results when working with AI-based tools such as ChatGPT and similar systems. Course Description: Throughout the course, students will familiarize themselves with key principles and approaches to prompt engineering, including the analysis of various types of prompts, their structure, and methods of optimization. They will learn how to tailor prompts to different tasks, ranging from text processing and research to analysis and creative writing. The course also includes discussions on ethical issues and the limitations of generative AI, focusing on how to use AI tools responsibly and with an emphasis on critical thinking.
