Předmět je koncipován jako úvod do syntaktické analýzy ve funkčně-kognitivním pojetí konstrukční gramatiky. <br>
Studenti se seznámí s teoretickými východisky konstrukčního přístupu k syntaktickému popisu a analýze, převážně <br>
v práci s anglickým a českým jazykovým materiálem. Cílem je vypěstovat si schopnost (i) přesného jazykového <br>
pozorování, (ii) pečlivé analýzy formálních a sémanticko-pragmatických jevů v syntaxi a (iii) obhajování vlastních <br>
závěrů na základě empirických důkazů.<br>

This course is an introduction to syntactic analysis within the functional-cognitive approach known as construction grammar. Students will gain basic knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of constructional analysis, primarily on the examples of English and Czech syntactic data. The goal is to develop (i) keen observational abilities with respect to linguistic patterning, (ii) basic skills for careful constructional analysis of formal as well as semantico-pragmatic patterns in syntax, and (iii) ability to defend empirically supported argumentation in defending one's analyses.

Pravidelná docházka na přednášky, aktivní účast na semináři, vypracování praktických domácích cvičení během semestru, závěrečný písemný test. Hranice k udělení atestace je 70% (jak ve vypracování domácích úkolů, tak v závěrečném testu).

Regular lecture attendance, active participation in the seminar, regular homework assignments during the semester, final written test. Passing performance in this course is minimum of 70% (both in homework and in the final test).
