Inductive logic is concerned with the question of how logical considerations might be used for forming belief values rationally. We will survey some arguments for treating belief values as probability and the foundations of (unary) inductive logic laid in the 20th century. Then we will explain recent advances in the area, which has developed into an abstract study of logic of rationality, describe the principles of symmetry, relevance, irrelevance and analogy which have been proposed and investigated to date and prove some of the key theorems.
