Annotation

English

The course on Tove Jansson comprises short lectures on the life of the Finnish-Swedish artist followed by
discussions and short written assignments on her and her work. The artist will be explored from various angles: as
a writer – she wrote for both adults and children –, painter, illustrator, cartoonist, political caricaturist, and the creator
of the Moomins and their world. The aim of the course is to introduce the students to this artist of many skills but
also to give them a chance to improve their oral and written Finnish.

Volitelný kurz se sestává z krátkých úvodních přednášek o různých aspektech tvorby finskošvédské výtvarnice
a spisovatelky Tove Jansson. Je známá jako autorka knih pro děti i dospělé čtenáře, jako kreslířka, ilustrátorka,
autorka komixů i politických karikatur a v neposlední řadě také muminího světa. Cílem kurzu je seznámit studenty
s touto mnohostrannou umělkyní, ale také umožnit jim procvičit psanou i mluvenou finštinu. Kurz je veden ve
finském jazyce.
