The content of the seminars will be selected chapters from the history of Czech music. The seminar is intended for students of the field of bohemian studies for foreigners and will introduce them to prominent stages and personalities of Czech musical culture. Music played an important role in Czech history, so it is necessary for foreign bohemians to have a basic overview of the Czech musical tradition and culture, based on knowledge from the history of Czech literature, theater, film and visual arts.

The aim of the subject is to familiarize foreign students with important works and personalities of Czech musical culture, which will be placed in the context of Czech history, by means of introductory words and listening to musical samples, as well as student reports. At the same time, the seminar will contribute to the development of students' language competence, especially in the area of reading comprehension, perception and production of Czech professional and artistic texts and listening comprehension. The condition for completing the course will be active participation in classes, presentation of an oral report, which will also be the basis for a written seminar paper, which the student will hand in at the end of the semester.
