The course deals with imporatnce of ecological spacialization for species co-existance and geographical distribution. It focuses on proceses behind community assembly and spatial distribution of diversity in ecological traits, it benefits from comparison between animal and plant systems. The course offers basic insight into related ecological theory, historical development of the studiesof ecological traits and methodical approaches currently employed in the ecological resaerch. Using a serie of case studies the course highlights the differences between animal and plant communities and dicusses importance of ecological traits in nature conservation. |
