This course offers an analytical discussion of the basic concepts which are needed for the academic grasp of the reality and theory of citizenship at the beginning of the 21th century. Kurz se zabývá problematikou občanství a občanské společnosti v demokratickém politickém systému. Seznamuje studující se základními pojmy (občanská společnost, veřejnost, sociální hnutí, občanství, zprostředkování zájmů, globální občanská společnost) prostřednictvím výkladu a kritiky pojetí vlivných společenskovědních autorů.
