This course is an advanced discussion colloquium for students of second year of the graduate program in gender studies. The course assumes knowledge of feminist theories and academic scholarship on gender, constructions of sexuality and theorie of identities and collective rights. During the course, we will be particularly interested in the ways in which queer perspective intersects with institutionalized structures of power, starting with medical discourse and interventions into sexuality, through education to professional settings of work and politics. All classes will be based in extensive discussion of assigned readings and documentaries. Emphasis in the course is placed on critical approach to selected concepts and argumentative abilities when articulating and defending selected theoretical and discursive positions. Jedná se o pokročilý diskusní seminář pro studující druhého ročníku magisterského programu Genderová studia, jež předpokládá znalost odborné literatury v oblasti feministických teorií a schopnost analytické práce s pojmy gender, sexualita a identita. Kurz navazuje na povinný kurz Politika identity a konstrukce sexuality. V průběhu semestru se zaměříme na to, jaké alternativní přístupy a možnosti žití, narace a reprezentace nabízí queer perspektiva, jež je z definice intersekcionální, mnohovrstevná a nestabilní. Queer perspektivu budeme sledovat v kontextu střetů s institucionálními strukturami moci od medicínského diskurzu a zdravotnictví přes výchovu, vzdělávání a školství, až po profesionální kontexty práce a politiky. Každé blokové setkání bude založeno na prohlubující diskusi vybraných textů a doplňujících dokumentů. V seminárních diskusích bude důraz kladen zejména na kritické uchopení probíraných konceptů a pojmů, argumentační schopnosti a formulační obratnost při artikulaci a obhajobě zastávaných pozic. Všechny materiály a požadavky ke kurzu jsou k dispozici v MST.
