Seminář slouží především k prezentaci nových výsledků pražské algebraické skupiny a jejích zahraničních hostí, ale i doktorandů a nadaných studentů vyšších ročníků MFF UK. Témata referátů jsou ze širokého spektra oblastí moderní algebry (teorie modulů, binárních systémů, svazů, grup a jejich aplikací atd.).
