In the Settings menu you can set the faculty, the academic year and the semester relevant for displaying the schedule. First you need to click on a faculty's code to choose the faculty and then choose the required academic year and semester in the same way. On the bottom line of the page heading you can always check the version of schedule you are working with.

Each semester has its own state (archive, preliminary, ...). Users with corresponding rights have a possibility to work with a preliminary schedule. All other users including anonymous users can choose only from the published schedules (archive and actual). Newly created semesters are in prenatal state (marked with embryo flag). Such semester prohibits any manipulation with scheduling events in the rozvrhng web module, but the schedule may be edited via Metro application, for instance. The semester may be switched from prenatal state to preliminary state by a user, who is allowed to modify the settings of protected semesters. The modification of protected semesters and the "embryo" flag can be achieved by clicking on Set Protected button or by switching to Semester protection tab.

Year and semester can also be changed at almost any page by the means of Semester quick-select... function.

In certain cases, the year and semester may be changed automatically. E.g. when viewing the details of a schedule item, the year and semester is set to that of the selected schedule item. More information can be found [[docid:2159:Here].
