Programme profile:	One-week course organized in the framework of the Khamoro Romani Festival (May 29 to June 4, 2022), at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, Prague, and intended for international university students. The summer school is set to be organized in-person. In the morning lectures, students will become acquainted with the main areas in which Roma participated in the creation of distinctive music styles. We will discuss some of the most important topics associated with music of Roma: representation of Roma through music, Romani music and its connection to emotions or to collective memory, etc. These discussions will reveal more general features of minorities music(s). Two workshops on music criticism will be held in the afternoons. In the evenings, students will attend festival concerts. The course will be led by prof. Zuzana Jurková, FHS UK, with guest lecturer prof. Filippo Bonini Baraldi, Lisboa. Study materials are available on-line for students.
