| English for Teaching Purposes | |
| Course Overview English has become the lingua franca of academic research and is increasingly becoming the medium of instruction in secondary and higher education. However, “English as a Medium of Instruction” (EMI) presents numerous, specific challenges for non-native teachers and learners. This course aims to prepare participants to teach their specialist subject in English. The course should interest PhD students (pre-service teachers) and in-service teachers and lecturers wishing to move into the exciting and rapidly growing EMI sector. Course Content - Academic English for Teaching (academic words; academic phrases & sign-posting language; rhetorical functions; subject-specific vocabulary) - Communication Techniques (narrative techniques; design principles & the Assertion-Evidence approach) - Intelligible Pronunciation (individual sounds; words in isolation; connected speech) Počet účastníků jednoho termínu: 16 |

| Zájemci musí být doktorandy nebo pedagogy Přírodovědecké fakulty UK. | |
| 1) Absolvování školení o bezpečnosti práce v úvodu kurzu (poučení o povinnostech účastníků CŽV z hlediska pravidel bezpečnosti práce, ochrany zdraví, požární ochrany a předcházení škodám při výuce v terénu), absolvování školení účastníci stvrdí na místě svým podpisem na prezenční listinu. 2) Písemné potvrzení o uzavření licenční smlouvy o pořizování a využívání fotografií a audiovizuálního záznamu na kurzu (součástí kurzu je videotrénink). Licenční smlouvu účastníci stvrdí na místě svým podpisem. | |
