Geopolitics was for a long time forgotten and omitted way to analyse the international politics. With the return of revanschism, annexation as a political tool, or creation of un-governed and unrecognized territories its prominence as analytical tool comes back into spotlight.

The Geopolitical Summer School aims to teach the students to

a. become familiar with concepts theories of Classic, Realpolitik Geopolitics, NeoClassic Geopolitics. Critical Geopolitics and Russian Geopolitics

b. understand geographic limits and potential of power

c. analyse current geopolitical trends and threats

d. understand the situation in particular region and external players

Europe in Troubled Times. The Future of European Geopolitics.
Syllabus:

1) Geopolitics as an academic discipline
2) Geopolitics of Europe
3) Great powers in Europe
4) Europe and unstable neighbourhood
5) Threats to European stability

Requirements for successful participation in the course:
1/ Preparation for lessons (reading materials)
2/ Attendance, activity in discussions
3/ Final group presentation

Requirements:
Students currently enrolled in Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree programs in Geopolitics, Area Studies, Political Science, International Relations and Economics and other relevant fields. There are no age or country limits for the application. A very good level of English is essential for successful participation in the course.

Students should note that the summer school classes are not part of the standard curriculum and we therefore have to charge them to cover our costs. Everybody who wishes to attend these classes must pay a fee of 290 EUR if paid before 15th March/390 EUR if paid before 15th May/450 EUR later.
