- Date: June 2 to June 6, 2025
- Credits: 4
- Lecturers: doc. Zuzana Jurková, with guest lecturer prof. David Rothenberg (University of Oregon);

A five-day seminar for students at all levels on how to make music with the sounds and structures of the natural world. We will review the music and writings of others who have worked in this way, and go out in the field listening with our ears, and our technologies, then return to the classroom and studio to work in our own diverse ways, culminating in an informal performance for the group and for the public. The course will be taught by hosting profesor David Rothenberg, New Jersey Technological University, USA, in collaboration with doc. Zuzana Jurková, Phd, and Oldřich Poděbradský, PhD., FHS UK.

---

The courses will be held in English. All costs (transport, accommodation, meals, concert and event tickets) are covered by students themselves. The organizer will arrange accommodation at Charles University dorms upon request. Participation fee for international students is 100 euros (free for Charles University and Erasmus students at Charles University). Students will have a possibility to obtain 4 ECTS credits for their participation (depending on the course – see below). Students who apply for both ethnomusicology summer courses only pay one participation fee.
