Guidelines

Bakalářská práce se bude zabývat anglickým gerundiem ve funkci substantivního premodifikátoru a jeho českými překladovými protějšky. Gerundiu je v češtině nejblíže “podstatné jméno slovesné, avšak často proti němu stojí infinitiv nebo věta vedlejší,” a stejně, jako přítomné příčestí, se tvoří sufixem -ing (Dušková, 2009: 8.85.2). Vzhledem k tomu, že v češtině se gerundium nevyskytuje, cílem práce bude prozkoumat, jaké prostředky čeština v přívlastkové funkci používá. Lze očekávat, že mezi českými ekvivalenty se budou vyskytovat přívlastek shodný (drinking water = pitná voda) i neshodný (sleeping pill – pilulka na spaní). Práce si klade za cíl ověřit, zda se v této syntaktické funkci v češtině využívají i jiné překladové prostředky. Analýza bude založena na 100 příkladech anglického gerundia a jeho překladových protějšků, které budou čerpány z paralelního korpusu „InterCorp“.
Práce bude vypracována v anglickém jazyce.
