Inferencialismus je filosofická teorie jazyka a významu, která se mj. pod vlivem pozdního díla Ludwiga Wittgensteina odvrací od reprezentační teorie významu a nahrazuje ji teorií holistickou, podle níž jsou významy výrazů určeny svými inferenčními rolemi. Takové pojetí významu se může pojit s tezí, že význam je normativní, jejíž kořeny lze sledovat k Wittgensteinově konceptu jazykových her a představě, že význam je určen pravidly a postoji spíše než jmény a popisy. Práce by měla nejprve stručně představit jádro inferencialistické doktríny skrze díla Wilfrida Sellarse a Roberta Brandoma a následně vysvětlit, co znamená, že je význam normativní, jak na základě těch autorů, co takovou tezi hájí, tak těch, co jí kritizují, a zaujmout k ní případně samostatné stanovisko. |
