Guidelines

V bakalářské práci se budu zabývat dílem guinejského spisovatele Williamse Sassina: Wirriyamu (v českém překladu Jarmily Ortové: Džunglí kráčí smrt). V první části s pomocí historických zdrojů popíšu realitu bývalých portugalských kolonií a porovnám ji s obrazem, který nám ve svém díle nabízí Sassine. Budu pracovat i s projevy dobových politiků a jejich diskurzem týkajícím se této problematiky. Ve druhé části se zaměřím na to, jak je v knize popsán střet kultur, náboženství a zvyků a jak ho vnímají postavy kolonizátorů, a naopak kolonizovaných. Ve třetí části zhodnotím poznatky v komparativní analýze fikčního světa Sassina odrážejícího koloniální realitu.
In my bachelor's thesis, I will cover the work of a Guinean writer Williams Sassine: Wirriyamu. In the first part, with the help of historical sources, I will describe the reality of former Portuguese colonies and compare said reality to the picture Sassine paints in his work. I will also be working with speeches made by politicians at that time and their discourse regarding these issues. In the second part, I will focus on Sassine's description of the clash of cultures, religions, and customs and how said topics are perceived by both the colonizers and the colonized. In the third part, I will evaluate the findings in a comparative analysis of the fictional world of Sassine reflecting the colonial reality.
