Guidelines
This thesis focuses on exploring the CLIL method and its influence on learning an L2 vocabulary. It will make use of Paul Nation’s picture vocabulary size test for exploring ordinary vocabulary. A second test will be created to explore some particular vocabulary used in two chosen school subjects: maths and history. This thesis will consist of a theoretical part focusing on the background and theory of the CLIL method and of bilingualism in the Czech Republic, and of a practical part comprising of a longitudinal study testing a group of pupils studying English with CLIL and a control group not using CLIL. There will be two separate tests for each of the groups and they will take place six months apart. The thesis will be written in English.
Práce bude vypracována v anglickém jazyce.
